Kevin B. Hartley: A Journey of Resilience, Transformation, and Success

 

Welcome to my corner of inspiration and empowerment! I'm Kevin B. Hartley (I grew up watching the "Brady Bunch" so the “B” Takes inspiration from “Ann B. Davis” LOL) a firm believer in the power of personal growth and transformation. Throughout my colorful life, I've discovered the strength within me to pivot, to overcome obstacles, and to thrive against all odds. While my professional career as a life coach is coming to an end (October 2nd, 2023), I still want to leave a positive impact and encourage you on your own journey of self-discovery.

 

As an openly gay man for over four decades, I've embraced my identity and celebrated the diverse connections I've made with incredible people worldwide. I cherish my roles as a son, brother, uncle, friend, and so much more. You may even find me humming along to Disney tunes, as I am an avid Disney fan, or perfecting my skills as a backyard chef (trust me, the BBQ is my domain!).

 

My journey has been a tapestry of diverse experiences and career paths. I've been hired and fired, quit and returned, and even experienced the exhilaration of being demoted, promoted, and merged out. From my early days as a camp counselor for autistic children to my roles as a marketing executive in the fast-food and hospitality industries, I've left my mark in various corporate domains. As a Six Sigma Black Belt, I honed my skills in process evaluation and improvement, making a significant impact on the guest experience and the bottom line of a 1400-room hotel in downtown Toronto.

 

I've donned the apron of a server, managed a retail store that achieved remarkable success, and explored the realms of fitness training, food styling, and even personal chef services. As a real estate broker, I shared in the joy of helping others find their dream homes or make profitable investments. And amidst these endeavors, I chased my lifelong dream of becoming an actor. From appearing in hit series like "Umbrella Academy" to portraying numerous characters on stage, screen, and commercials, I've embraced the thrill of the spotlight.

 

Yet, my journey has also been marked by profound challenges. I've endured abuse as a youth, faced rejection when coming out as gay, and navigated the hardships of being an early 80s "street kid." I've weathered storms of bankruptcy, divorce, lawsuits, and audits. I've also provided palliative care to a beloved parent living with cancer, surpassing initial life expectations and cherishing every moment together. At 40, I received my own sobering life prognosis, but I've defied odds and fast approach my 60th birthday with gratitude and resilience.

 

Through it all, I've screamed, wept, laughed, and survived. I've learned valuable lessons from each setback and emerged stronger, more determined, and more resilient. My journey has taught me the power of pivoting, passion, and resilience. And as a coach, armed with the wisdom gained from my life's jagged path, I helped others revisit, revise, reset, and renew their own journeys.

 

I understand that everyone carries their own baggage and experiences. While my journey is unique, I believe that our individual struggles are relative to our personal paths. I've encountered sadness, anger, depression, anxiety, loneliness, and more, but I've also experienced the transformative power of thriving. 

 

When life feels stuck or overwhelming, you can work to "unfuck" the situation, empowering you to move forward with purpose, peace, happiness, and success. I've dedicated myself to becoming a Master Level Coach, Group Coach, and Team Coach. Additionally, I've immersed myself in the concepts of NLP (neuro linguistic programming) and Mind Shift focus, equipping me with powerful tools to support personal growth.

 

I encourage you to seek out a life coach with similar training and experiences. Just as you seek guidance from instructors, trainers, and tutors for various aspects of life, a skilled coach is there to help you unlock your full potential and create a life aligned with your values.

 

The only thing constant in life is change…EMBRACE IT! In doing so you own the strength within you to shape your destiny. Embrace the journey, for it is in the struggles and triumphs that we truly discover our authentic selves and embark on a path of growth, fulfillment, and lasting success.
